The Philips LFH-9850 Desktop Digital Dictation System offers call-in dictation capabilities in one small desktop unit and can be accessed and operated using virtually any commercially-available touchtone telephone. The Philips DTD 9850 is ideal for attorneys, sales representatives or doctors on the go, and allows transcriptionists to transcribe urgent dictations immediately. Businesses benefit from faster dictation input, reduced document turnaround time and secure, central file storage.

The Philips DTD 9850 answers calls automatically and records dictations without the user having to be present. Calls to the DTD 9850 can be made from any touchtone telephone, including mobile phones, PDAs or car phones. Authors can dictate whenever it suits them; for example from a client’s office, while driving back from a meeting or traveling to a conference or seminar. They only have to identify themselves with their user IDs to obtain individual access rights, while the telephone keypad gives the user full control of the unit. Call-in recording options for the touchtone keypad controls include several important dictation commands such as “priority index" or “next dictation" and authors can also change the work type of a document to be recorded.

Upon completion of a dictation, the dictated files are either automatically or manually uploaded to a PC via USB connection. The Philips DTD 9850 stores dictations on a memory card, which enables transcription directly from the device. When integrated into digital dictation software such as Philips SpeechExec Pro, the Philips DTD 9850 routes voice files to specific locations such as a LAN, FTP server or an e-mail address for remote transcription.

The Philips DTD 9850 is easy to use, providing transcriptionists with a unique jog dial and backlit display that clearly indicates the position within a dictation. All controls are ergonomically positioned on the device for manual control, and a foot control can also be plugged directly into the unit, if required (available as optional accessory).
